So this morning I read that Hollywood Records only shipped about 100,000 copies of the new Raven Symone cd (released Tuesday) and the only stores stocking it are Best Buy and some Walmarts (filed under “R” instead of in new releases.) I checked it out myself this afternoon and there were INDEED a few copies (only 1 row on the new releases aisle) at Best Buy for $9.99, a few at Borders for $14.99 (pshhhh what a sham!) and zero at Target or Walmart. Labelmate Miley Cyrus’ “Hannah Montana 2″ double cd was still on the new release rack at Walmart, which is weird since that album came out in December 2007. OH! BTW: I spied Hannah Montana bean bags on clearance for $10 (down from $30 originally) so.. there you go! Sooo…. your options… well there’s ordering the album online: or better yet from ITUNES and get it RIGHT AWAY! Three new Disney Channel Original Movies announcedThursday, April 10th, 2008 by Julia ZolondzThe Disney Channel announced three new titles for the popular Disney Channel Original Movie franchise: “Princess Protection Program,” “Dadnapped” and “Hatching Pete,” each starring Disney Channel series stars in new roles.
“Princess Protection Program” Starring Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez (”Wizards of Waverly Place”) and Tom Verica, “Princess Protection Program” centers on a teenage princess who must escape her country and be placed into a top-secret protection program. Hidden in the home of its lead agent, she now must learn to fit in as an average teenager and, ultimately, show the agent’s insecure daughter that she too has all the qualities of a true “princess.” Written by Annie DeYoung (Disney Channel’s “Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board”) and David Morgasen (”Son of the Beach”), the movie is directed by Allison Liddi-Brown (”Friday Night Lights”), produced by Danielle Weinstock (”Weeds”) and executive-produced by Doug Sloan (Disney Channel’s “Minutemen”). It will premiere during the 2008-09 season. “Dadnapped” Starring Emily Osment, Jason Earles and Moises Arias (each of “Hannah Montana”), David Henrie (”Wizards of Waverly Place”) and Phill Lewis (”The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”), “Dadnapped” is a story of Melissa, a girl who’s left frustrated that her father, a best-selling author, is totally preoccupied with the hero of his spy novels, Tripp Zoome, and the fan activities surrounding the character. During a long overdue father-daughter vacation, her dad goes missing, and now it’s up to Melissa to muster the courage and know-how to find him… which suddenly puts her in the midst of her own adventurous plot. “Dadnapped” was written by Alan Silberberg (”Doug”), executive-produced by Doug Sloan (Disney Channel’s “Minutemen”) and directed by Paul Hoen (Disney Channel’s “Jump In” and upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie, “The Cheetah Girls One World”). “Hatching Pete” Jason Dolley (”Cory in the House,” “Minutemen”) and Mitchel Musso (”Hannah Montana”) star in “Hatching Pete,” the story of shy high school student who’s struggling to be noticed, especially by a special girl he’s admired for so long. Then his best friend, Poole, must quietly take a break from performing as the school’s chicken mascot, and unbeknownst to the fans, he convinces Pete to stand in for him. Once Pete dons the chicken suit, a whole new outgoing personality emerges, and it not only captivates the school but the whole town. Meanwhile Poole reaps the benefits of Pete’s dynamic performances, including a new girlfriend. Now unassuming Pete must decide if he wants everyone to know who the funny guy truly is. The Disney Channel must REALLY like the Jonas Brothers! First up is "Jonas Brothers in Concert," airing at 8 pm SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6 on the Disney Channel. Featured are songs from their album "Jonas Brothers," including "S.O.S.," "Hold On," "That’s Just the Way We Roll" and "Just Friends," among others.Next is "Camp Rock," scheduled to premiere next year. The Jonas Brothers star as members of a leading musical group, Connect 3, one of whom has become a guest instructor at the camp in an effort to counter his bad boy rocker image. And even later in 2008 comes "J.O.N.A.S.," a live-action spy comedy in which they play young operatives for the government, thwarting evil while undercover as a teen rock band. To the world they are super stars, but to the bad guys they are super spies, better known as Junior Operatives Networking as Spies (J.O.N.A.S.).
