Here is a slideshow from Tribune photographer Ralph Freso!I took more! like ones of THIS GUY after the jump! Click click click it!Seriously, who is that guy? Did he come alone? With friends? Is his favorite character Troy Bolton? Did he listen to "You Are the Music in Me" in his car on his ipod when he left? So many questions! This news dude was interviewing people outside. Notice how square he looks with his newscaster tie. He probably tried to ask those kids questions like "Why do you like this young folks version of Grease?" and the kids were probably like "Get outta town, old man" and kicked him in the shin!Radio Disney’s Cactus Carl bringing the house down with his trademark "witty banter" NOW WAVE YOUR CHICKEN MCNUGGET IN THE AIR! AND WAVE IT LIKE YOU JUST DON’T CARE! CUZ WE LIKE TO PARTY WITH FRIES AND CHICKEN EVERYBODY SAY OH YEAHHHHHH!!!Everyone wanted a piece of the Jumbotron action, which led to the inevitable….Jumbotron camera guy doubting whether people are ever excited to hang with HIM, or if they’re just after the GLORY. sigh. The tendency of huddles like the above made me long for cheerLEADERS… not cheerDECIDERS. Nahhh just kidding. They were great. Please don’t cheerPUMMEL me… k thx.THE GIRLY GIRLZ STAFF KNOWS HOW TO GET PSYCHED WHOOOOOO!!!!This is what happens to hawaiian leis and pom pons who fail to get the owners onto the jumbotron. I want to hear how you liked it! How great were Sharpay’s outfits? Wasn’t Troy like TOTALLY OUT OF LINE to tell Chad to take back his burger? WHAT A JERKFACE, right? right, guy? This was the anti-social side of the stadium. Or maybe the smart side?Note the time on the countdown clock just prior to me entering the line to get a water for my sister and a pretzel because i was starving… let’s just say when i exited the line, the Tipton was LONG GONE (I sat down right as the lights went down!)NOW WAVE YOUR BABY IN THE AIR! AND WAVE IT LIKE YOU JUST DON’T CARE! etc……guy on the right in the yellow shirt = not amusedgirl on the right looking at the camera = frightenedTRIBUNE SPORTS WRITER SCOTT BORDOW buying something probably really awesome from the concession stand. Premiere Party RECAP!

Saturday, August 18th, 2007 by Julia Zolondz

So I just got back from the event and I had soooo much fun! Did you go? There were a TON of people there and the food lines were sooooooo long but it was WORTH IT when the movie started! Let’s back up though! First was the Pep Rally COMPLETE with Wildcat cheers, trivia and dancing! Radio Disney called into a bunch of the premiere parties throughout the country, and here’s ours!!! Click the link to listen!

Radio Disney Call-InDid you hear yourself or someone you know? Haha like you can tell the difference from YOUR "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" to your friends’ "EEEEEEEEEEEEE"! After the pep rally, the REAL show began and it was super cool to watch it on the big screen! Although it was a little odd to watch it over the sprinklers on the field? I mean, who has sprinklers in their living room? I wish the sprinklers were timed to the MOVIE sprinklers! Get on that, Diamondbacks!! The crowd went CRAAAZY during the first part of the movie but once it started, it settled down and sometimes felt like a concert going on! The second half though was when I think it really rocked to see it with so many people… there was impromptu clapping to the music and waves of applause after really great songs. And when Troy and Gabriella finally kissed, the screams were so loud you would’ve thought Zach and Vanessa were on the field in the flesh! I saw a bunch of kids dancing in the aisles afterward so I am PRETTY sure everyone had a lot of fun…Coming in the next couple days will be pictures I took at the event, and my review of the movie. But first I’m gonna have to watch it again, because I missed some parts due to the echo on the field. In all though, it was a cool feeling to be so submerged in the HSM atmosphere and be around a ton of people who really like the music and spirit of the movie! What did YOU think of the movie? What was your favorite part? Least favorite part? Favorite song? Was it better or worse than the first movie? And don’t forget, I’ve got one copy of the High School Musical 2 soundtrack to giveaway so e-mail your name to  jzolondz at evtrib.com by 8 am MONDAY to win!
